WELLINGTON OSTEOPATHIC SERVICES

Osteopathy is a gentle form of hands-on treatment that can assist your body to move better, heal from injury, help reduce pain and function at your best.

Osteopaths are trained to take a thorough history and full assessment before settling on an individual treatment plan, and have a wide range of techniques to choose how best to help. We may also suggest some exercises or advice for you to do at home.

All of our osteopaths are ACC registered - so they can lodge a claim on your behalf, or use an existing claim.

Osteopathy for pregnancy & babies

Preparation for labour | Pregnancy-related pain | Post-birth pain | Colic and reflux | Suckling problems

Childbirth can be a traumatic experience for mother and baby. Osteopathic treatment is a great way to remove unnecessary strains sustained during birth, for example from compression forces from forceps, or after a prolonged labour.

For pregnant women and new mothers – osteopathic treatment is very helpful in treating pregnancy-related or post-birth pain, as well as the strains involved in looking after an infant.

For babies – treatment can help with colic, reflux, suckling problems, recurrent ear problems, and poor sleeping patterns.

In young children – osteopathic treatment can help with rebalancing strains after falls and/or other injuries sustained during such active years.

All of our osteopaths are experienced in treating babies and infants and can see your baby from shortly after birth.

Prevention

The great thing about osteopathy is that many patients seek treatment as a form of warrant of fitness.

Patients are encouraged to become proactive rather than reactive, and visit us at our clinic in Wellington on a semi-regular basis to ensure those aches and pains that creep up over time are kept away.
